Community

ORA dedicates a generous portion of time to non-profit pro-bono work and other community enriching activities. ORA is actively involved with Architects Without Borders - including design of a school and community center in Eastern Kenya, Katrina Disaster Relief, and Centralia Flood Relief.

Owen Richards, aia, leed ap
Owen has 30 years experience in the design of Arts and Cultural Facilities. He has a proven record of effectively leading complex multi-disciplinary teams through all phases of design and construction. He is the current president of Architects without Borders-Seattle and is a member of the US Green Building Council. Owen graduated from Rice University in 1979 with majors in Architecture and Photography. Prior to starting ORA in 2004, he was a Principal at LMN Architects in Seattle. He also practiced architecture in Atlanta, Australia, and New York. In addition to theater and architecture, his passions are photography, and long distance cycling.

Kate Cudney, Leed ap
Kate came to architecture from a long history in art, theater, dance, design and carpentry. Kate is involved in Architects Without Borders, as a team leader of the Rabuor Village Project in Kenya. Kate has a Masters of Architecture from University of Washington and a BA in sculpture from Dartmouth College. In addition to art and architecture, Kate is an avid telemark skier, and bike commuter.

Tom Mulica, Leed ap
Prior to pursuing architecture, Tom spent time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zimbabwe where he was a teacher and developed a library for his rural village. He also worked as a Wrangler in Vista Verde, Colorado. Tom is involved in Architects Without Borders, as a team leader of the Rabuor Village Project in Kenya. Tom has a Masters of Architecture from University of Washington and a BA in art history from Emory University. In addition to art and architecture, Tom's passions include barbeque and bocce.
