kiLO 6 AT PAINE FIELD - EVERETT, WA
Located on the prominent southwest edge of Snohomish County Airport, this 16 acre phased development includes 3 hangars totaling 100,000sf. Phase I construction includes two hangars completed in 2009. The construction on the Historic Flight Restoration Hangar is undergoing with expected completion by early 2010. This 16,000 sf facility serves as the hub of restoration for Historic Flight, a museum of operating vintage aircraft. Visitors will have an opportunity to watch the intricacies of maintaining and restoring these beautiful aeronauticsal machines. As the first new development on the southwest edge of Paine Field, the project represents a new presence and interaction with the neighboring town of Mukilteo. The articulated south facades incorporate sunscreens, canopies and extensive landscaping to mediate the scale of the development and blend with the extraordinary surrounding environment. Project design team includes: Charles Anderson Landscape Architects, AHBL Engineers and Candela Lighting Design.
